Youth Surf Camp Offering Details

Rhody Surf’s popular Youth Surf Camp is the only surf camp in Newport and takes place on beautiful Easton’s Beach—conveniently located less than a mile from downtown Newport. Our award-winning program runs every summer weekday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, rain or shine, and is open to ages 6 to 17 who are comfortable swimmers.

Campers can sign up for the full week, multiple days, or just one day to test the waters. Whether it’s their first time on a board or they’re working on their pop-up, our experienced instructors teach the fundamentals in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.

What to Expect at Camp:

✔️ Check-in at 9:00 AM at the Rhody Surf beach tent on Easton’s Beach

✔️ Small group sizes with a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio

✔️ Camp starts with a ‘dry land’ lesson, then heads into the water to catch waves

✔️ All gear provided: beginner surfboard, Rhody rashguard, or wetsuit

✔️ Free beach parking included for all campers

✔️ Parents are welcome to stay and watch—or drop off and return at 11:00 AM for pickup

Our mission is to make surfing accessible and exciting for kids while focusing on water safety and ocean confidence. Camp fills up fast, so we strongly recommend booking in advance—but we do accept last-minute reservations up until the night before, depending on availability.
