Cancellation Policy

Rhody Surf is a small seasonal business with limited lesson and camp availability each day. Many of our programs sell out weeks in advance, so we ask that customers review our cancellation policy carefully when making a reservation.

Once a lesson or camp reservation is booked, the time slot is reserved specifically for you. If you are unable to attend, written notice must be submitted through our Contact Form, and the following policy will apply depending on how far in advance the request is made.

Please note that surf lessons operate in a dynamic ocean environment. Normal ocean conditions — including light rain, small waves, seaweed, or typical beach conditions — do not qualify for cancellations or refunds.

  • 14 Days Prior to Reservation

    • Full refund

    • or reschedule to another available date within the same season

  • 7-14 Days Prior to Reservation

    • 50% refund

    • or reschedule to another available date within the same season

  • 48 Hours - 6 Days Days Prior to Reservation

    • No refund

    • reservation may be rescheduled to another date within the same season

  • Under 48 Hours to Reservation

    • No refund

    • No rescheduling available

Rescheduling Policy

Reschedule requests may be made up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time.

  • Rescheduled lessons must occur within the same season

  • Only one reschedule is permitted per reservation

Late Arrival Policy

Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled start time.

Late arrivals may result in a shortened lesson time, as instructors must remain on schedule for other students.

Rhody Surf does not provide refunds or partial refunds for:

  • Late arrivals

  • Leaving early

  • Missed lessons

Beach Closures & Inclement Weather

Rhody Surf operates rain or shine. Passing rain showers are common at the beach and often bring cleaner wave conditions that are great for learning to surf.

In rare situations where the ocean is unsafe due to thunder, lightning, or a municipal beach closure, lessons may be cancelled for safety.

If this occurs:

1. We will first attempt to reschedule your lesson or camp session

2. If rescheduling is not possible during your visit, a full refund will be issued

Weather-related cancellations are uncommon and are determined solely by Rhody Surf instructors for safety reasons.
