Rhody Surf specializes in teaching our future professional surfers the basics of surfing in a fun, yet educational group surf lesson. The popular program is Newport’s only Surf Camp and is conveniently located on the popular Easton’s Beach (aka First Beach), less than a mile from Downtown Newport. Sign-up for the week, multiple days, or even just one day to test the waters!

Surf Camp starts at the Rhody Surf beach tent on Easton’s Beach for check-in at 9 AM. The youth surf program runs every summer weekday, rain or shine, from 9 - 11 AM. Youth Surf Camp is for ages 6-17 and all students must know how to swim. All of our students receive complimentary beach parking during Surf Camp. To ensure our award-winning program is safe, informative and personal, we keep our camp sizes small.

Surf Camp begins on the beach to cover the basics with our 'dry lesson' then dives into the ocean, learning how to catch waves. All students are provided with a beginner-friendly surfboard and Rhody Surf rashguard or wetsuit rental included in the price of Surf Camp.

We have a 4:1 student/instructor ratio for Surf Camp. Parents may stay during camp to watch and take photos, or may drop children off but please be on time for pick-up when Surf Camp is done. The program fills up quickly and we highly encourage scheduling in advance but take reservations up until the night before camp, pending availability.
