If you’re serious about learning how to surf, nothing beats the focused attention of a private, one-on-one surf lesson for kids or adults. Whether you’re a first-time rider or looking to improve your skills, our personalized instruction helps students progress faster, build confidence, and have more fun in the water.

Bringing along a few friends or family members? Private group lessons are a great way for beginners of all ages to learn in a relaxed, social setting - surfing side-by-side with the people you enjoy most.

All surf lessons take place on Easton’s Beach (aka First Beach), just outside of Downtown Newport, making Rhody Surf the most convenient surf school around. Each lesson is one hour and includes all equipment - a beginner-friendly surfboard, rashguard, and/or wetsuit

What to Expect:

✔️ Dry Land Lesson - Learn the basics of paddling, popping up, and surf etiquette

✔️ Determine your stance (goofy or regular) and proper body positioning

✔️ In-Water Coaching - Catch waves with your instructor by your side, giving real-time feedback and technique tips

✔️ Free beach parking included for all lesson participants

✔️ All gear included - no need to bring anything but your stoke!
