Rhody Surf’s new Beginner Surf Class is designed for first-time surfers who want to learn the basics in a fun, social environment.

This shared class format allows students to learn alongside other beginner surfers while receiving guidance from our experienced instructors. It’s a great way to meet new people, build confidence in the water, and experience the thrill of catching your first wave.

Open to both kids and adults, this one-hour, weekday surf class takes place on beautiful Easton’s Beach in Newport and includes all necessary equipment.

Whether you’re visiting Newport for the first time or a local looking to try something new, our Beginner Surf Class offers a relaxed and welcoming introduction to surfing.

What to Expect in Class:

✔ Check-in at the Rhody Surf beach tent on Easton’s Beach

✔ Small class sizes with a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio

✔ Begin with a short dry land lesson covering paddling, pop-ups, and surf safety

✔ Head into the water with instructors providing hands-on coaching

✔ All gear included: beginner surfboard, Rhody rashguard, or wetsuit

✔ Free beach parking included for all participants
